So classic books are not enough for PG medical entrance exams preparation because MCQ books are based on exam pattern and it is good for quick revision. A student has limited time so these classic books are not helpful for them. There are some MCQ's which is commonly used in MCQ books with their answer.

Example of post-translational modification:
(A) Addition of selenocysteine
(B) Addition of alkyl group
(C) Conversion of arginine to citrulline
(D) All the above
Answer: All the above

The following are true, except:
(A) Glucokinase is present mainly in liver and pancreatic B cells.
(B) In liver under normal condition, hexokinase is saturated and supplies constantly  glucose-6-phosphate.
(C) Hexokinase has high Km for glucose and is inhibited by glucose-6-phosphate.
(D) Glucokinase removes glucose from the blood following a meal and provides substrate for glycogen synthesis.
Answer: Hexokinase has high Km for glucose and is inhibited by glucose-6-phosphate.

Regarding glycogen phosphorylase, all are true, except:
(A) Glycogen phosphorylase catalyzes the rate limiting step of glycogenolysis.
(B) There are distinct isoenzymes of glycogen phosphorylase for liver and muscle.
(C) Glycogen phosphorylase requires pyridoxal phosphate as its co-enzyme.
(D) Deficiency of muscle phosphorylase leads to high blood lactate after exercise.
Answer: Deficiency of muscle phosphorylase leads to high blood lactate after exercise.

Co-enzymes for pyruvate dehydrogenase complex are all, except:
(A) TPP
(B) PLP
(C) Lipoic acid
(D) FAD
Answer: Answer: PLP

All of the following are true regarding regulation of pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) complex, except:
(A) PDH is inhibited by its products, i.e. acetyl CoA and NADH
(B) Phosphorylation of the enzyme inactivates it.
(C) Kinase that phosphorylates PDH is activated by increase in [ATP]/ [ADP], [acetyl-CoA]/ [CoA] and [NADH]/ [NAD+].
(D) In adipose tissue where glucose provides acetyl-CoA for lipogenesis, the enzyme is inactivated in response to insulin.
Answer: In adipose tissue where glucose provides acetyl-CoA for lipogenesis, the enzyme is inactivated in response to insulin.

In methyl alcohol poisoning, ethyl alcohol is given as antidote. This leads to:
(A) Km decreases and Vmax increases.
(B) Km and Vmax remain constant.
(C) Km increases and Vmax decreases.
(D) Km increases and Vmax remains unchanged
Answer: Km increases and Vmax remains unchanged
